Y’all, how is it already August? It was just January, like yesterday. I can’t believe this summer is coming to an end, but I’m not complaining. I’ve already started dreaming of all things fall – like pumpkin spiced lattes (duh!), Bath & Body Works seasonal candles (my favorite!), ALL the booties and cardigans (seriously Nordstrom, I want them all!), and living at a bit of a slower pace (who am I kidding?). Sounds magical, doesn’t it?! But since it’s summer until September 22nd (I’m counting down the days), I know there’s still some lake time to be had and many of you still have beach vacations planned, so today, I want to tell you about this black one piece swimsuit and these Sugarfix by Baublebar earrings.
I told Greg at the beginning of last summer that I wanted to try a one piece swimsuit, but then we found out we were pregnant with Andie so I didn’t really wear a swimsuit last summer, at all. When this summer rolled around, after just having a baby in March, I knew that a one piece swimsuit was definitely on my must have for summer list. Since I had never worn a one piece swimsuit before, I knew that I didn’t want to splurge on a super expensive one right away but rather find a decently priced one and “give it a try”. So I loaded Andie and my mom (because she was in town visiting, plus she never lies to me about whether or not something looks good on me – thanks Mom) up in the car, and we went to one of the happiest places on earth – Target. And y’all, I will never spend more than $35.00 on a one piece swimsuit because this black one piece swimsuit is perfect! It’s one of the most flattering swimsuits I’ve ever owned. I love the cutout detail around the neck. Here, I styled it with denim shorts, but it could be paired with literally any coverup. And it’s 100% mom-bod (and just mom in general) approved. There’s nothing worse than being at the pool or at the lake with a group of people and being uncomfortable and worried the entire time that something’s being exposed (#notworthit). Then throw in a baby… Long story short, this black one piece swimsuit is a winner! It’s available in three colors online. I’m tempted to get it in burgundy and teal too (#whynot).
Okay, now let’s talk about these earrings. I’m sure most, if not all, of you have heard about the jewelry line Baublebar. But have you heard about Sugarfix by Baublebar available at Target? I’m pretty weird (or maybe a better word is picky) when it comes to jewelry because it’s true what they say, “Accessories can either make or break an outfit.” And I just don’t like to wear jewelry that looks cheap. But good jewelry is expensive, and I also don’t like splurging on pieces that I’m not sure whether or not I’ll wear more than once or ever. I started hearing about Baublebar a few years ago when I started following bloggers. On average, their line runs from $30.00 to $200.00. I did purchase a pair of Baublebar earrings for mine and Greg’s rehearsal dinner, but I’ve never worn them again so I can’t justify purchasing anything else. So when I discovered that Baublebar has a jewelry line available at Target called Sugarfix by Baublebar, I was excited. The designs, styles, and trends are very similar, but on average this line runs from $8.00 to $30.00. When I went to purchase these earrings (that are just $12.99) I was a little worried about the quality of the line, but honestly, after shopping the line and buying and wearing these earrings, I’m a fan!
When it comes to trying a style or trend that I’m unsure about, I would much rather play it safe before making an investment. What about you? Are you a dupe girl, or a splurge girl? Leave a comment and let me know! <3
